Aiko is a supervised, voice-first artificial intelligence (AI) companion and engagement service designed for older adults in adult day-service settings in Japan, including 通所介護 and 地域密着型通所介護 offices.
The Service supports communication, engagement, family connection, supervised sessions, optional familiar-voice personalization, session summaries, facility reporting, consent records, and related administrative functions.
The Service is not a medical device, healthcare provider, nursing-care provider, caregiving provider, therapy provider, mental-health service, emergency-response service, safety-monitoring service, diagnosis system, treatment system, or substitute for facility staff, family judgment, professional care, or emergency services.
All conversations, summaries, reports, prompts, non-clinical sentiment or tone indicators, engagement indicators, staff summaries, family summaries, suggested next steps, alerts, and other outputs are provided for informational, organizational, engagement, and communication-support purposes only.
No content provided by the Service constitutes factual certainty, professional advice, medical advice, mental-health advice, legal advice, financial advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, counseling, care instructions, clinical assessment, emergency alert, safety determination, prediction, guarantee, or final determination.
AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, mistranscribed, inappropriate, unavailable, or affected by user input quality, missing context, audio quality, device conditions, facility environment, accent, dialect, hearing or speech differences, model limitations, retrieval limits, provider availability, network issues, latency, or system degradation.
Aiko may identify possible conversation themes, family-connection topics, engagement patterns, inactivity signals, sentiment or tone labels, or staff-review items. These outputs are operational hypotheses based on available data. They are not objective findings, clinical conclusions, safety determinations, or care recommendations.
Optional familiar-voice personalization uses authorized voice samples to support synthetic voice output where enabled. Synthetic or familiar-voice output may sound unnatural, inaccurate, emotionally inappropriate, or different from the original speaker. It must not be used without required consent or in a way that deceives, manipulates, exploits, or impersonates any person.
Facilities, operators, staff, family members, guardians, representatives, and other users are solely responsible for:
- obtaining required consents, permissions, and authorizations;
- verifying family relationships, legal authority, and profile access rights;
- supervising older-adult sessions;
- maintaining facility procedures, care standards, and emergency procedures;
- reviewing AI outputs before using them;
- verifying important information independently;
- deciding whether the Service is suitable for a particular user, facility, session, or use case;
- handling medical, care, safeguarding, legal, emotional, family, or emergency issues outside the Service;
- decisions or actions taken based on Service outputs.
The Service is not an emergency service. If there is a medical emergency, mental-health crisis, risk of self-harm, risk of harm to others, safeguarding concern, abuse concern, neglect concern, or other urgent safety issue, contact local emergency services, facility staff, qualified professionals, or appropriate authorities immediately.
During any pilot, beta, pre-release, test, unpaid, discounted, or limited-access period, the Service may be incomplete, experimental, unavailable, changed, suspended, or discontinued. No production-grade availability, support level, service level, continuity, or feature commitment applies unless stated in a signed written agreement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service provider disclaims all liability for any loss, damage, claim, cost, consequence, decision, care outcome, emotional distress, family dispute, facility issue, safety issue, or third-party claim arising from or related to use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Service or its content.
Use of the Service is at your own risk.
